Hi Cosmo,     Sounds like a Standard Vanguard head to me, especially with all the round parts in a line. I have two Standard Vanguard powered cars. The ports are tiny. I have the head off of one of my cars and we can compare photos if you want.     What is your friend doing with the head? If it needs a good home, I would be interested. I could trade him a TR3 high port head for it or something. Contact me off-line.
Standard Vanguard engined car owners are pretty rare these days...

Subject: What the HEAD is it?

Hi List!
A friend has a head & was wondering if ANYONE can give me info. to: What
type of head he has?
The info. he has given me is:
1- It's the same length & width of a 4 cylinder engine (like a TR3/4)
2- It has ALL ports ROUND (NOT oval/rectangle like the TR4/A head)
3- All round ports are IN Line (NOT like a 'High port' TR4/A head)
4- All ports SEAM small (maybe like a (spitfire?)
5- NUMBERS: MC 20612 &
6- 300 440 found under the front of the engine BELOW were the thermosate
would go in the head)
