Is there a particular problem you are trying to resolve?

If you do go with Pertronix it is probably prudent to keep your old points
set-up in the boot as a get-me-home fix.  The can be most easily done by
mounting them to a spare base-plate.  If you set the points then remove
that base plate the replacement is a simple 2-screw substitution.
