First thought is the spinner was not on tightly. You may have a bad spot in the threads that causes the spinner to appears tight but really is not. Check it be running the spinner on and off the hub without the wheel in place. This damage can easily be caused by allowing the wheel to drop down onto the threads while mounting or dismounting. So I replaced a leaky inner tube on the front driver side tire today and while putting the wheel back on noticed that about 1” of the outer splines had worn smooth on the hub. The wheel looks normal inside and I hadn’t noticed anything different lately. I will replace it asap, but just wondering what the cause of this might be? I’m fairly certain it is the original hub. Thanks for the help!
