Note that I feel it is important to use hardened rod, nut & washer.  I wouldn't trust the "old cheese" stuff they sell at Home
Depot.  I forget the size offhand, but MMC has threaded rod in grade "B7" with a tensile strength of 125,000 psi for just a few
dollars.  I also lubed the threads well, and saw enough wear after pulling the first pin that I used new components for the other
pin.

Soaking the pin in PB Blaster for several weeks seemed to help, too.  At least the TR3 came apart noticeably easier than the TR3A
did, but its sitting in a "barn" for all those years might have had something to do with that.
