is the power actually being drained?  I recently had a battery that I 
thought was dead.  I could clean the cables, and the lights would work.  try 
to start the car, nothing, and the lights no longer worked.  replaced the 
battery, same thing.  took a rat tail file to the inside of the battery 
clamps, and now the car works great.
