[Tigers] rear disc brake

Well...
Discs are better or else why would all new cars have discs?
Basically, they cool better. In a Tiger with discs on the rear, they will have stable proportioning.
And the pads can run (slip) right on the disc, even when adjusted to the max, drums
have play in the pedal.
Yeah, aluminum drums might have a slight weight advantage, maybe not when you add the
cooling fins, self adjusters, springs, etc. Now, there are light weight aluminum calipers too.

I did everything I could to get all new parts, install correctly, etc., and they just never worked right. So I thought I'd go with the discs on the Alpine for the why the heck not. I just haven't gotten to it yet.

Datsun 240Z's came with aluminum rear drums (still with the cast iron liner, of course) and it would not be a huge effort to adapt the backplates so that all that stuff would bolt right on. You would probably even get automatic adjusters in the bargain. But rear discs have that certain je ne sais quoi...
