[Tigers] rear disc brake

I would guess that one could do some careful parts-bin engineering and end up with a rear drum setup that weighed significantly less than any equally effective rear disc setup. Datsun 240Z's came with aluminum rear drums (still with the cast iron liner, of course) and it would not be a huge effort to adapt the backplates so that all that stuff would bolt right on. You would probably even get automatic adjusters in the bargain. But rear discs have that certain je ne sais quoi...
Cheers,
Theo

I've often wondered about the "need" to go to rear discs on the Tiger, as the front brakes are asked to do pretty much all the work on our cars. I've never had issues with the rear drums in very hard use (with decent high temp linings). The fronts did require some work ;)

What’s wrong with drums? Just fed up of adjusting them?

has anyone recently tried the fiat 124 rear conversion, most things I have read were from years ago. my interest is in maintaining use of 13" wheels and I have a set of the fiat caliper/brackets..and car is used for street use only, limited auto cross
