[Tigers] Rear Sway Bar

Jim,
Nice installation!
My analysis is get rid of that stock panhard rod.
Put your shocks on full soft and drive down the freeway. As you go over slight dips an bumps the rear end will steer the Tiger
downright dangerously. The stock rod is too short and is mounted not parallel to the ground.
To get the stability back in the rear axle you get some springs with small bushings in the front, I got Dale's springs.
SO much better!
Gary

I got an addco rear bar but couldn’t figure out how to mount it so I made my own… mounted in front of the rear end and welded a couple tabs on the side of the plate that the u-bolts go through to hold the lower links. The brackets that I made are very strong ( 6-3/8” bolts per side) and you’d have to rip the car apart before they would let go! The calculations say it’s only giving me about 75 lbs./inch with 12” arms and a 34” ¾” solid bar. It makes quite a difference which between the 3 adjustment holes though. I got the bar. arms etc. from Speedway Engineering ( $200 ) and it was pretty reasonable actually… biggest job was to make the brackets!

Anyone else notice that effect ? I have quite a bit of ‘ackerman’ correction in the front suspension also

But after reading and finding that bending and welding impact metal spring rate and you should temper the bar post fabrication to get it to work correctly. For the rear end and space I needed to put in bends around the pumpkin and linkages.

But for the rear packaging, I needed too many bends and couldn't locate a straight bar type in the space. In the end, I went with a custom-built from https://www.carolinaswaybar.com/ https://www.carolinaswaybar.com/ It was a premium price but they were great to work with.
