Gentlemen,
I am redoing my Tiger seats and need some help. I have attempted to contact Martha but have not gotten a response. I am trying to figure out the proper procedure for recovering the seat bottoms and want to do it right the first time. I have read Joe Parlanti’s write up on the TEAE.org website but still have some questions. My seats are the newer version that uses the rubber diaphragm bottoms as opposed to the individual straps that Joe describes. Can anyone out there that has done this give me some advice? Do I need to glue anything in place? It seems that the foam sits nicely nestled down into the frame and with the seat cover in place probably won’t shift or slide out of position, or am I missing something? A step by step procedure of “Tiger seat renewal for dummies” from someone that has done this before would be extremely helpful. My seat covers are still in reasonably nice shape and will be reused. The seat backs will be used as is, the only reason I am doing this at all is the bottom foam has self destructed and my drivers seat frame had broken and needed welding. Also, as stated in a previous post, the cross tubing that is a height adjuster is missing on the drivers side frame. I didn’t even notice it until I saw pictures on the net and compared it to my passenger side frame. I am fairly tall so it really wasn’t an issue. If it were yours would you take the one off the passenger side and put it on the drivers side? Any help will be appreciated and thank you in advance.-Brad
