[Spridgets] It's alive!

Finally after numerous attempts the Bugeye is running! The new ECCO
fuel pump delivers more fuel than the Facet pump at the correct pressure.
This time I blew out the steel fuel lines with compressed air. Apparently
that did the trick. Blowing air in the tank to pressurize it was not
successful. This time the pump was self priming.
When I was running the Facet pump, fuel would fill the clear fuel
filter only at the bottom of the clear capsule. I never understood how the
car ran OK like that. Now the fuel filter is full under pump pressure and
no overflow from the carb. With the ECCO pump the car started immediately
cold. With the Facet pump it would take a little longer to fire up. Now
it won't idle, but I attribute that to old gas sitting in the carb for over
eight months. I plan to take it out tomorrow and try to blow it out on the
freeway. If that doesn't do it. The single HIF44 carb comes off for
disassembly and cleaning. Woohoo! Alive! Just in time for the new gas
prices.
