Around here, the lumber yards have blasting sand in different grits. It's silica sand so a good respirator is required, but I haven’t ever had any problems using it in my TIP pressure blaster. It’s pretty fast too. Aluminum oxide cuts fast, but it’s too expensive to use with a pressure blaster where it doesn’t get recycled like in a blast cabinet.
