For headphones I suggest checking out the comparison tests on CNet.com. As
far as wired vs wireless, that’s your choice, but usually wired will be
cheaper, of course. Don’t be too concerned about your phone or other
devices (iPads) not having a headphone jack. AFAIK, they will have a USB-C
port that’s multi function. Apple sells a short pigtail that has a 3.5 mm
headphone jack and a USB-C male plug that works with wired headphones. It
works fine with my wired Apple headphones on my phone and iPad. I also have
a couple of pigtails that split the USB-C port allowing power and audio to
be connected to a phone or tablet simultaneously. I got the Apple pigtail
at Best Buy, the dual port version from there, too, or Amazon, IIRC.
Prices for noise canceling headphones are all over the place. If you want
decent noise canceling functionality you’ll probably want the closed ear
type. I’ve used Sony MDR series phones for studio work but they weren’t
noise canceling. Sennheiser are also highly recommended.
All of this said, I understand that some of the better hearing aids offer
Bluetooth connectivity for us old farts!
