[Shop-talk] adding to a 4-way switch circuit.

It isn’t difficult as long as you can access one of the wires between switches & the power to the lights. You will need a relay with a coil rated at the light voltage. I assume that it is 120v. You also don’t want to turn the lights off if they already on! Do you want to allow the light timer in the GDO to turn off the lights or do you want to be able to turn them off manually without waiting for the delay?

I can draw up a drawing for you.

Peace,
Pat

I have 4- 8’ fluorescent fixtures in my garage that are controlled from three different doors. I’d like to be able to do some circuit changes
so when I actuate the garage door opener it would also turn on these lights instead of the puny light in the unit. It seems something might
be able to work using the light circuit in the opener but my head won’t wrap around a 4-way circuit and the relay/switch/hicky-thing in the opener !

any suggestions

thanks
