I thought I’d update everyone on what I ended up doing. I got some clear epoxy, and some clear urethane to try out. The epoxy was OK, it had a bit of an amber tone, which wound’t have been an issue. But the urethane was much more clear, less prone to bubbles, and had a much smoother surface. Both the epoxy and urethane adhered well to my test cup, but the urethane remained a little more resilient after curing. The only down side with the urethane are the isocyanate fumes, so if you don’t have the proper protection the epoxy would be a reasonable substitute.
