[Shop-talk] How join AZEK to sheetrock

I have a sheet rock wall that separates my 2 garage doors.  It was 
constantly getting wet along the bottom and falling apart(I tried 
waterproof too).  I cut out the bottom 2 feet of the sheet rock and 
replaced it with a sheet of AZEK plastic board.  I taped it to the sheet 
rock and blended with wall compound.  It was fine for the last 6 months, 
but now that it's cold, the wall compound is starting fall off.  I'm 
wondering what to try next, possibly wood bondo.  Any ideas would be
