Geez, I don’t know Al, seems a bit steep for a low end blower, assuming single stage as the MTD I am familiar with. Generally pretty sturdy, I had a single stage 21” MTD for long enough to replace the paddles. IIRC, I barely paid $200 for mine new.
It’s sure a good thing to have here in Michigan.

Subject: [Shop-talk] Snow blower
Anybody know anything about this snowblower? A friend’s brother is selling what looks like [in pictures] to be an MTD 5HP, I’m guessing 24 inch. I don’t know how old it is.
I live in Michigan, so it DOES snow every winter. I can use a good sized blower, though my drive and sidewalk aren’t terribly large – certainly not the 8000 sq ft on the house I sold!
He is not terribly mechanically inclined, so I have no confidence it will be in great shape [I haven’t seen it, and it’s a little bit of a drive away]. Last I heard, he ‘managed to get it to start’ last winter…
Any ideas of what it’s worth? $200?
