Exhaust manifold

As you have discovered, the early & later manifolds look the same.  They will both work, but they have to have a matching intake to go with it.  Really the only difference between the two is the thickness of the flange where it mounts to the head.  If the intake and exhaust don’t match you’ll have trouble with sealing because the clamp washer won’t put equal pressure on the manifolds.  I don’t remember which is which is which, but one of them is about 1/16 of an inch thicker than the other. Just make sure they match & you’ll be ok.
