[Mgs] Radiator

Butting in, with my recent experience regarding a MK.I MGB radiator…
After a fan blade attacked it, the old-school local radiator shop said it wasn’t repairable.
They said they could re-core it for $450, which seemed like a lot.
I looked at the replacement radiators that were available, and wasn’t hearing good things about them. And many of them didn’t even have a provision for a drain tap, which to me was a deal killer (since the lower hose is so hard to access, it just seemed that that would add a permanent maintenance nightmare).
Then I managed to convince Moss Motors that their fan had a factory flaw, so they not only replaced the fan, they supplied a new aluminum radiator… with a drain tap.
I don’t like the look of bare aluminum under the hood, but I sprayed it flat black and it looked fine.
Assuming “free” isn’t an option, between buying a dubious $250 radiator and having the original one re-cored for $450, I might have chosen the latter. Or maybe not.
