Originally both V8 and 4-cylinder clutch reservoirs were metal, but different bore sizes, and 4-cylinder Mk1 were different to Mk2. They went NLA and plastic-reservoir types had to be used, but Leacy and Brown& Gammons in the UK (at least) have had remanufactured 4-cylinder Mk2 ones (GMC1007) available for some time now:

Mk1 (AHH6553) seem still to be only available with the plastic reservoir, but I think the only difference is that the Mk2 was canted over to clear the larger North American brake master, so should fit Mk1.
V8 plastic GMC1011 have a larger rectangular reservoir and the reservoir apparently has to be reversed or you can't get the cap off once installed.

I’ve replaced my clutch MC some years ago.
The original metal type is NLA, so I ended up with a plastic reservoir type called V8 type…
It’s the same fit, so no problems with that.
