Ha ha, good point. But sometimes the "new bolt" is not readily obtainable,
and sometimes the machine in question needs to go back together *now*, not
after waiting several day for UPS, and sometimes the threaded bit is part of
an elaborate unobtainable vintage forging. So there are many situations
where this could save the day. I mean, you might as well ask, what good is a
tap and die set?
