Recently we had the Woodward Dream Cruise which generally creates gridlock for
miles of stop and go. Temps 90 F. My BV8 has had the rubber bumpers removed,
louvers in the hood over the headers, stock 77 B rad, no engine fan, but I
replaced the Lucas elec fans (an oxymoron?) with a set from a Chevy van. also
have a Sebring front spoiler and I fabricated a duct from the opening in that
to direct incoming air thru the bottom of radiator. The car maintains slightly
above halfway on the gauge with those changes. I think a lot of thought needs
to br directed toward eliminating cavitation around the rad. also in creating
a path for the air to get out from under the hood. If you look back at early
Bs they had a rubber gasket fitted to the top of the rad support to force air
to pass thru the radiator.
