Hello Richard,

There is even a smarter and cheaper solution: A cork stopper with a slit glued on the toolbox lid(see attached photo). There is also an elaborated version, consisting in a rubber octagon with a magnetic base and the MG crest on top. It is available in ebay, I think.

Aftermarket.  Some few guys have made them, but dunno if any were made commercially.

They allowed the bonnet to rest mostly open, with the lower front rubber corner piece on a little 'U' shaped piece under the bolt. I really liked it. Is it a correct item, or something aftermarket?
