[Mg-t] sump oil pick-up

Good morning listers--

The TF engine diagram in the factory service manual shows the fan-shaped
extension on the bottom of the oil pick-up in the sump as ending several
inches short of the forward end of the sump.  We recently bought at a flea
market an oil pick-up with that extension.  Aside from the extension (and the
fact that it's center-, not side-, located), it's identical to the one in my
TD-----but when placed in a TD/TF sump, it comes to within <1/2" of the front
of the sump.  The bottom of the fan-shaped extension is marked:

    168706
    [triangle]
        DF

Can anyone tell us whether this is indeed TF (and thus the drawing is
inaccurate)?  If not, any ideas what it's from?
