Sorry, I meant to “reply all” and didn’t notice the “healey-bounces” What is that, anyway?

A friend had these made up to calibrate for a 3.5 diff in a BJ8. They are plastic film – “static cling”.

He may have some of them left. If interested, contact Dave Leonard.

Another elegant option is to get small stickers for the 3-4 key speeds and just put them on the speedo glass. Mileage will still be a skosh off but you will know how fast you are going.

This is what we do to mark Kph on our speedos in HK, fully accepted for MOT.

I am very happy with my electronic replica built by Speedy Cables in Wales. Face is near identical to original BJ8 and no one has ever noticed. You do however need to fabricate a bracket for a sensor or use a pulse transducer attached to the cable. -VE ground only.

Of course it is dead accurate !

Thanks for a number of good replies. It seems this is more complicated than I first thought. The car has a USB connection and will use an iPhone Speedometer App and see how that works.

What about a GPS speedo if you aren't concerned about original?

There are 2 choices. Either have the speedo re calibrated internally or install an in line ratio box.

Hello,

I have changed the rear axle ratio on my BT7 from 3.91:1 to 3.55:1. Is there an easy way to correct the speedo for the 3.55:1 rear axle?

Harold
