More useless information. Using a regular 3/8 UNF bolt with a long enough shank could potentially allow the bell housing to hang 0.001 inch low on the engine back plate. 
The play in a new input shaft bearing will allow the tip of shaft (where it enters the bushing in the crank) to move, much more than 0.001. So is alignment really an issue with tolerances this small?
