Hi,

My overdrive is still driving me mad..

So, I've got it reassembled and have added the oil. About 3.5 litres was all
it required so there must have been a fair bit still inside.

1.	The solenoid is still in its box. Am I right in assuming(!)that one
can switch the OD on manually with the lever on the RHS??

2.	I ran the engine in 3rd for about 2 minutes whilst bringing that
lever up, down, wherever. No pressure. How long does it take for the OD to
produce pressure after the hydraulics have been reassembled?

3.	With the pump in place and its two retaining screws tightened up,
should one be able to move the pump's piston up and down against the spring
with a rod pushed up through that bottom bolt? (The bolt into which the
filter's bolt screws). Mine wouldn't move at all. But wouldn't that depend
on the position of the cam??

4.	One observation: The piston in the AH Spares accumulator wouldn't
move in/out with pressure from my thumb. The supplier, OD Spares, said that
it takes a lot of pressure and oil to get that piston moving. Any thoughts
on that??

I suspect that I've not managed to line the top of the piston up properly.
Zero pressure.

I had pressure before this saga all started but it dropped drastically once
the engine/gearbox warmed up. Hence the new AH Spares accumulator with
bigger bore and new ball bearings and little springs etcetc.

I don't believe that I've got anything (else!) wrong so I'm wondering about
the pump....

Simon
