[Healeys] Blanking Plate - Water Gallery

It is a cover for the water passage at the front of the engine block and next to the water pump. Maybe a different version of the engine had a different water pump or a bypass of some kind. It isn't related to an electric choke switch (AKA otter switch) because those switches have a symmetric triangular bolt pattern while the bolt pattern on this cover is asymmetric.

right electric choke, not temp sensor. Distracted by grading college homework. I should focus on my Healey list as top priority. But I did link to the correct Moss page.

Hi Patrick

I have a similar on my early 3000 BT7 which was where the temp sender for the electric choke was removed.

Hello

I have been sent a short article about the blanking plate fitted to the front of the 100 engine. Photo attached.

Would anyone know the purpose of the plate? Perhaps in other engine installations the opening it covers serves another purpose?

Thanks
