[Healeys] OD Problem?

There is a very very small bleed hole in the operating rod abount 1” below the ball. When the overdrive is turned off the pressure bleeds off there. If it is blocked it will be very slow to come out of overdrive.
Remove the plug, spring, plunger and operating rod. Then try blowing out the the bleed below the check ball.
The other thing that can cause it is if the adjustment of the solenoid is moving the operating rod to far it will stick in overdrive. Then with a thump on the rear housing it will come out of overdrive.

Subject: [Healeys] OD Problem?
Hello Again,
Finally got oil pressure in the rebuilt OD. With the car in 4th it shows about 500 psi on a gauge.
However, I noticed when reattaching the drive shaft that with the trans in neutral the output won't rotate in the reverse direction. It rotates easily by hand in the forward direction. This is true before and after the pressure has been released. Before getting pressure in the OD it rotated by hand in both directions. I haven't tried to engage the OD. It's a hard mechanical stop. I'm afraid the one-directional clutch be engaged and I don't want to break anything.
I've been a long time gone from this fine place. Life's taken a lot of twists and turns, but it's good to be getting back to having to come here for help.
Thanks and Cheers
