Regarding the valves issue, see attached. Written for our local club after
I'd had the same trouble. May be on John's site....can't recall. Don't look
at it if you seen it before!....I do tend to send it out every time this
crops up.

As I recall (memory disclaimer), the valve has a taper. Try gently tapping
it with a hammer on the end opposite the handle. I had the same fear and
this freed the valve on my tricarb.

My handle is not yet broken off.  I can't get the valve closed with
