[Healeys] Mac question--Healey related (sorta)

I am trying to view a video file on a TV and have a cord running from a
MacBook Pro mini-display port to the HDMI input plug on the TV.  All that
displays on the TV screen is the computer desktop background--not the
selected file which is playing on the computer screen, and not even the
icons on the desktop.  I'm obviously not making some setting selection and I'd
appreciate hearing offlist from someone familiar with Mac.

BTW this is Healey-related as there are Spridgets shown in the video.
