[Healeys] MGC vs AH motors, not Distributor

Jack,
You cannot compensate for weak springs, other than retarding the 
ignition, thus causing the engine to run acceptabely in the midrange 
area, but with a retarded ignition in the higher rpm, hard on the 
exhaust valves.
The only cure is to fit new springs or a new distributor. A 123 ignition 
distributor would be a good choice as it has several ignition curves to 
play with and it is not overly expensive.
