I use stock cork gaskets.Glue it to the rocker cover, glue, not RTV.Give it a nice even coat of Permatex Right Stuff, work it into the gasket surface a little, smooth it out & leave a light coating.Let it sit for around 15 minutes & starts to 'skin", put a thin wipe of oil on the head so the gasket doesn't adhere to the head surface, fit cover, done. The gasket is now part of the cover, it won't squish out, nor will it leak because it has a perfect seal against the head, & can be R&Rd many times w/o additional sealer.FWIW YMMV etc etc...Glen Efinger

Hello Spitfire Brethren,
I recently saw a valve cover gasket designed for the wider flat flange on the alloy valve cover for spitfire engine. This was a british site- Spitfire - Lemans R (?)My question is has anyone seen anything similar here in the States ? I'm frustrated with gluing and manipulating a stock Spitfire gasket to fit, stay and seal.Any word or ideas appreciated.
