Hi Jason
That's great news! I think you may want to consider making a set of gears with first as a racing gear, I'm assuming 4th is 1:1 right?
In my dog box's I would change gears for every track but did come up with a set ratio's that were a good compromise for someone who didn't want to hassle doing that based on all the track data I collected for the last 25 years.
What guys today are referring to as close ratio are some changes from the factory that may be better than stock but certainly not optimal for racing by any means.
Please see the pdf's below, you can recalculate based on your inputs what work best for you on any gear calculator, I can't remember the name of the one I used but it was free online. I'm always happy to help if you need some other input.

Amici, I'm working with a gear manufacturer on another option for close ratio gear sets for the big TR gearbox. Initial design is for 2nd/3rd/4th to be close ratios (similar to what we are used to with the discontinued close ratio set), but the 1st ratio will be stock. I suspect few road racing users are using 1st gear other than to get moving from the grid (ultra close ratio dog box users excluded).
These will be a "semi-helical" type gear, they won't be quiet like street gears.
I don't have any hard numbers yet, the cost will certainly be a bit higher than the $600 sets we are used to, but a fraction of the cost of converting to a dog box.
If things work out, I'll have a sample set in my racecar to test this summer.
I'll keep FOT posted.

FWIW when calculating demand, I have bought 5 sets over the years. I’ve sold I few racecars over the years and some has CR sets. The set in my TR4 us the most abused set and us still going strong. It does talk back at times, but they seem to hold up well.

I'm using one.
Wouldn't mind having another one. Should have bought one when they were available at $600 or what ever it was. It's difficult to understand the reasoning behind not letting a more modern and available option to be used. Toyota, Miata, T5 or what ever. Had I known that to date, absolutely no tech inspector would ever even look at or question my gear box or if I was using rack and pinion steering, I may have gone that route in the first place. I don't think these items make the car or driver go much faster and spoil the competition. Some are using these already anyhow. I've heard the argument many times, that basically the original option with over-drive had 7 gears. Why wouldn't any 5-speed be allowed. Thegridsaregettingsmaller.com. I like to add .com. to anything. And, I'mnotsleepingverywellthesedays.com. That sort of thing...com. Gdamn$85sycrorings.com. Hehehe.com. Dave H.
