[Fot] Close ratio gears

Rick,
Thanks for the reply. Yep, I've put way too many hours into gear
calculations/thrust plots/road speed in each gear etc to get to this point
and backing it all into existing TR gearbox bits to determine what's
possible.
Yes, 4th remains 1:1, due to gearbox design. If you map out the existing
close ratio set we are discussing here, there's still quite a big torque
drop off between gears, at least with the torque curves I'm used to. Some
small changes to the ratios should make a very nice improvement.
By leaving 1st gear as is, it allows me to (hopefully) keep the cost within
a reasonable distance of the TT2210 gearset that we've recently lost supply
of. If I were to make changes to 1st gear ratio, that changes the price
point significantly!
Added bonus if you are a lazy heathen like me- nice and easy to drive the
car onto the trailer at the end of the weekend without hurting the clutch :)
I see my option as an improved alternative for the more typical vintage
racer who's happy using 2nd/3rd/4th and not changing gearbox
ratio's between races, and with your new synchro's should give renewed life
to the ole TR gearbox in racing.
The racers who wish to have 1st gear options will be better served with a
dog box or some other gearbox conversion, in my opinion.
