[Fot] Mounting Hoosier Speedsters on rims

Sixty five years ago, I worked in a tire changing store in Bethesda, Maryland. This was tire irons and rubber hammer stuff - before tire changing machines. All tires had tubes and we didn’t even take the wheel off the car. Absolutely the shitiest job in the world. With a recalcitrant tire fitting a reluctant bead, we would swash the tire with soapy water and, voila, it would pop right in. No soapy water, no poppie beady. 
I’d tell you how quickly an experienced man with tire irons can change a tire if you don’t take the wheel off, but you would not believe me.
