[Fot] TR4 Motor & Transmission Mounting

I never had much luck in rearward mounting on the TR cars but the Spitfire
and GT-6 got a little assistance by setting the front motor mount on the
back of the standard position rather than the stock mounting point which is
on the front. Help? Not much.

Aha. Perhaps I read Steve's message wrong. I read he was moving only the
mounting points rearward. If he's moving the engine and transmission, I
agree with you. A two inch move might be a thousand inch-pounds. That's
significant.

better check your sanctioning body.....it's usually not an approved
modification.
you would be surprised what an inch difference in weight placement makes in
the corner weighting of a car, especially the engine and trans. If you've
ever used a tongue scale to balance your trailer load you can imagine what
moving the engine and trans will do to a 2000lb car.

Anyone have any experience with moving the engine mounting
rearwards to
possibly improve weight ballance?
Any improvements to just the engine or transmission mounts?
