[Fot] TR6 distributor question

There is a speedometer repair shop in Albuquerque, NM called MoMa, that will
take your mechanical drive tachometer and convert it to electrical input.
You just need to tell them if it is for a 4,6 or 8 cylinder car. Gauge looks
perfectly stock but will take the impulse from the negative lead of the
coil. Works perfectly on my vintage TR6 racecar that has a Mallory dual
point mechanical advance distributor. Cost to clean and convert the gauge is
about $250.00

www.gaugeguys.com

aka apt intruments international

they can switch the guts on a mechanical tach with real smiths eletric
tachs. they look like a stock gauge and work well.

I had my street car converted a while back. It worked great 'till I
accidentally zapped it, but that was my fault, not APT Intruments.

If you want to do it yourself, you may be able to swap the guts from a
Spitfire electric tach, but I have no idea hoe to calibrate it for 6
swilinders.
