[Fot] Correctly using the adjustable clutch rod

I see in Kas' book (book 2 I believe) page 84 where it talks about the
adjustable clutch rod, it states that the adjustable clutch rod...."allow(s) a
very fine adjustment to make certain the throwout bearing is in adjustment and
that the seals and crankshaft thrust washers are not threatened by
maladjustment
of the rod."
My situation is that I just installed a new B&B
clutch assembly with a Koyo
throwout bearing in my 74 TR6. The linkage is
not completely free of movement
due to wear but it is very minimal. I have
adjusted the clutch rod to the stock
length and the clutch functions but I
want to use the adjustable clutch rod as
mentioned above. The Koyo bearing
makes an throwout assembly that is appx. 1/16
inch longer than stock not to
mention the bearing requiring more force to keep
it spinning. If I had all
stock items, I would likely use the adjustable clutch
rod just to take up
wear in the future, but with the introduction of the Koyo
bearing, I am
hoping to use the adjustable clutch rod as a way to have my
components
operating optimally. Any suggestions on how to do this would be
greatly
appreciated.
Thanks, Jim
