Gary,
I have an R6, Virago and FJR1300 all running Castrol Active 4T and have been
running this oil exclusively for more than 8 years. This is 15W-50 grade.
The Active 4T is an Australian brand, so =you may have to ask your Castrol
rep for an equivalent if you cant find it directly.
Cheers
Peter

Subject: [Fot] Oil Question - No LBC content
I apologize for using the list for a non-Triumph question but I know there
is more knowledge available here than anywhere else I could turn to.
I have several older motorcycles whose manufacturers recommended oil
weights that I can no longer find. Example; My "85 Virago 700 should have
20W-40
according to Yamaha. I can get 10W-40 or 20W-50. Which number is more
important, the first or the second.
I know from past discussions there are some lubrication experts on the
list
and would greatly appreciate your advice.
Thank you!
