[Roadsters] Voltage regulator

From your description your mechanic has accurately diagnosed the
problem. Good mechanics usually get at least $100/hour. As far as
afternarket instrument regulators go, I don't know of any that give
the same regulated voltage curve in operation. Nissan had one model
for 68-70 roadsters, another for 65-67.5 roadsters and other ones for
510's and pickup trucks of the same era. The mounting setup was
different but all functioned the same electrically. You can find
several advertised. The price for new unused electrical components
that are no longer available from the original manufacturer is
subject to availability. Guess that is why gold is expensive.
