[Roadsters] boot lid rubber seal glue

I have purchased the full rubber seal kit from Dean, working through the
 rebuild and now trying to glue the boot (trunk) lid seal to the boot
lid. I have tried two different brands of purpose marketed weather seal
stirp glue from autoshops. Both stick really well to the car but
struggle to stay glued to the rubber seal itself. Has anyone found
success with a brand of rubber glue that works for these seals?
