<Everything I read and am told by "experts" says that supplying cold air
to carburetors results in more horsepower. I notice, however, that
almost no one uses one>
A recent article in the Titan Newsletter Jan. 2000 is on this point.
Roy Thomas was one of the owners of Charles Lucus engineering and then Titan
Cars. (Manufactures of Titan Formula Fords in the 1970s.) He wrote as
follows:
"which leads me to the airbox charade. Never found air intakes on FF to make
the slightest difference, but the racers wanted them, and a good source of
income came from changing them often!----We spent a whole day testing and
came to the conclusion that it made no difference at all! What a waste of
time and money."
Maybe this is only relevant to the Formula Fords drivers out there.
