Very sorry to hear the event has been cancelled. I know members of Purple
Lips Racing were looking forward to it. Especially in light of the many
Datsun "groupies" in B.C. that have recently become big fans of ours and
wanted to see the car run. Again, sorry to see the event called off, but we
will anticipate next year and mark it on our racing calendar.
I can't confirm this but I heard rumours this past weekend at Road America
that are disturbing (perhaps they have something to do with the sudden
cancellation.) Good authority has it that The Vulture has established a
West Coast cell of vintage racing terrorists. Were the organizers at
Boundry Bay tipped off to this? Were they afraid this group might surface
and something might happen?
I have also heard rumour that racers driving Alfa's with rubber poultry
dangling from the rear may be prime targets of this group. It sounds as if
racing on the left coast will now suffer from its own version of tasteful
terrorism soon.
Again, sorry to hear about the cancellation. As for the Vulture Group, it
may just be rumour, but be vigilant!
