There's two sides to most things. Big events like Monterey,
like the Chicago Historics, are fun for a lot of people.
One of the attractions are the many competitors who want to
be part of the show. Earle has built an event which reflects
his interests and his personality. But here in the midwest we
have a premier event which has reflected another man's
personality. The Chicago Historics is a run-what-you-brung
affair, full of replicas, fakes and cheaters, whatever. A
legitimate Penske trans-am car blown away by new Camaros with
25K motors. Fast cars are slow. Slow cars are fast. The organizer
promoted fake Ferraris, but now they're slow, too. Beater cars
running stock car tires and breaking their wheels off. Nothing
makes sense. Sure its fun, like the Dukes of Hazzard. But there's
nothing historic.

[Yeah, I know there's a money fight and Joe's maybe gone. But the
rules are the same].
