Well, Kroil is good, but not that good. I just looked at my Kano Lab =
folder and I see I paid $8.20 per large can for a case of 12 back in =
2007. I believe they were the large, 16 oz. cans but I could be wrong. =
Naturally, over the years, things got more expensive. I also bought a =
case of something called Weatherpruf which was a non-volatile, cosmoline =
type of coating to keep items from rusting over long term storage. That =
was a good product and I see they no longer offer it. That=E2=80=99s too =
bad. I also see that the company no longer sells direct to the consumer, =
but only through distributors. As we all know, anything from Amazon will =
be sold at a premium. From their (Kano) website, it appears that the =
company was sold a couple of years ago, probably the reason for so many =
changes. One thing that really is aggravating is when you buy a bunch =
of spray cans and then in time, some of them loose their propellant. Now =
you have full cans with no easy way of getting the product out. I think =
the Kroil cans had an overly high incidence of that happening.=20

=20

I bought a gallon can in 2017 =E2=80=93 it was $53 for one can that you =
could use in either a pump style sprayer or a pressurized sprayer. That =
was a good value but I made the mistake of buying the Silikroil version. =
I found out in a hurry that if you ever want to paint something that you =
used Silikroil on, the paint would just bead up, no matter how much you =
pressure washed the item. I=E2=80=99ll never buy that again. =
It=E2=80=99s also over $100 per gallon now. Based on their current =
marketing strategy, I don=E2=80=99t think I will be writing any more =
checks to Kano Labs for Kroil.

=20

I bought a gallon of PB Blaster along with a metal bodied pump sprayer =
for about $30 at NAPA store. That was and is a good value and =
that=E2=80=99s what I would suggest. I think the PB Blaster has more of =
a residual lubricating effect and I find that works well on things like =
ratchet binders and things like that. It is also a credible penetrant, =
especially with a bit of heat. Plus, if you are at a local store to buy =
that sort of thing, you don=E2=80=99t experience what amounts to =
incredibly high shipping costs.

=20

I agree =E2=80=93 I don=E2=80=99t use WD40 much. I have found it can =
cause rusting of unprotected surfaces.

I'm down to my last spray can of this stuff. It lasted a long time, but =
I just got a shock on the price of a new 16 OZ can at $36 off Amazon. =
I'm in California and serious rust isn't an issue.

It is good, but is there something cheaper that folks are happy with? =
Please don't recommend WD40. I've used JB80 before someone recommended =
Kroil, but that is about 23$ for a similar size can.
