This is the perfect opportunity to have your tank professionally purged and
a new outlet bung soldered in. I did this on my 6 a few years ago and
installed a NAPA shut off valve in the bung which makes working on the car a
lot easier. The purging and bung probably cost me about $75. The shut off
valves run between $12 & $40.
