You are gong for 26 ft lbs on this. I am assuming that you are using a new
nyloc, and that you have cleaned the threads on the tie rod end. Personally,
I would not leave it this way because I settle for no compromises in brakes
and steering.
I had one of these and I removed the tie rod end, ran a die on the threads,
VERY carefully as you do not want to cut the existing threads or create new
ones, cleaned the taper and the taper hole with acetone to free it of all
grease and oil, first seated the taper with a non nyloc and then put a new
nyloc
on and tightened with a torque wrench.
It sounds like you are assembling steering components without a torque
wrench. Not recommended.
