When I first test-drove my GT6, it ran pretty well, and eventually I
agreed to buy it. A day or two before the guy was going to deliver
it he called with a sob story. He'd washed down the engine bay and
after that it ran terrible. So he took it to a "British car
specialist" (hah!) in his area and they'd screwed it up even worse,
finally decided the dizzy was bad so they replaced it. (Huh?) That
helped, I guess, or it didn't, I ferget. Somewhere in there he (or
I, probably he) acquired a new Lucas Sport coil. When he finally
delivered it the ignition was fine and its only real problems were in
the carburettors (really!) due to the DPO before him. So much fuss
over one engine-cleaning. Wasted money too.
