I agree with Bob 100%. If yours does not come off with gentle prying, and it
probably hasnt or else you wouldnt be emailing the list, there is one more
thing you can try that might work, or it might ruin the knob. Try applying
heat, from a propane torch or another favorite source. Go slow, building heat
so as not to disfigure the outside of the knob. After it has softened, you can
try to pry it off. If nothing else works than this method might. If you destroy
the knob this way chances are you would destroy it the other way also. Either
way you choose be very careful of the back of the rheostat. It is quite fragile.

Unfortunately, that is the one dash knob that's almost impossible to get off
without breaking it if it's been on there a long time. It doesn't have the
little "release indent" so you just take a putty knife and try to pry it
off. Then it will probably break, like mine did and like someone warned me
it would...and you replace it with a new one.

As mentioned on the list earlier, I've ordered a new dash from Prestige
Autowood. I started removing the instruments, and got to the light
rheostate knob. I cannot see how to remove this one. Can someone out there
tell me?
On another note, someone a while back mentioned buying a new wiring harness
for their TR-6. This was not an original one, but one with a larger number
of fuses (how in the name of God did Leyland imagine THREE fuses were
enough!) and some other accoutrements. Whoever did this, can they tell me
how difficult the job was, and where they acquired the harness?
