were much faster than later TR4's and 4A's thanks to their extraordinary 
short-
bubble aerodynamics. Sometime after they switched to the longer bubble
bonnets, S-T engineers probably realized the cars had a lower, 
aerodynamically
limited top speed and thus reduced high-rev torque, so they deleted the 
part. ;)
